Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Barista / Assistant Barista to join our team. In this role, you will join our café staff in creating exceptional coffee experiences for our customers, and be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality beverages and snacks while ensuring a welcoming and efficient café environment. The ideal candidate is passionate about coffee, thrives in a fast-paced setting, and is eager to learn the craft of coffee making.
Responsibilities
- Maintain a welcoming, positive and friendly attitude
- Preparation of coffee and other beverages according to established recipes and standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the coffee bar, equipment, and customer seating areas.
- Support team members during peak hours with efficient service and teamwork.
- Refill supplies and restock coffee beans, milk, syrups, and disposable items as needed.
- Take customer orders, handle cash and digital payments, and ensure excellent customer service.
- Help with opening and closing duties, including cleaning machines and surfaces.
- Monitor inventory levels and communicate any shortages to the Head Barista or Manager.
- Learn and adhere to all health, safety, and hygiene standards.

- Engage with customers in a friendly manner to create a positive café experience.
- Work collaboratively with team members to meet daily operational goals.
Experience
- Previous experience in a café or food service environment is preferred
- Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact positively with customers.
- Familiarity with coffee preparation techniques and equipment is a plus.
- Experience using POS systems.
- Basic math skills for handling transactions and understanding retail math concepts.
- Knowledge of food safety practices is beneficial.
Qualifications & Skills:
- Prior experience in a café, restaurant, or hospitality environment is a plus.
- Strong interest in coffee, customer service, and food preparation.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods and work in a fast-paced environment.
- Reliable, punctual, and detail-oriented.
- Willingness to learn and take direction from senior staff.

Pay: $15.00 - $18.00 per hour
