Tucson Cactus & Koi is looking for a dependable, customer-focused Retail Nursery Associate to join our team on our 3-acre retail nursery grounds in Oro Valley. In this role, you will work directly with retail customers to help them select plants, maintain plant health across display grounds, and keep our retail shop running smoothly.
Key Responsibilities
- Customer Support & Sales: Greet nursery visitors, answer customer questions, offer recommendations on desert plants, cacti, and succulents, and assist customers with loading plants or heavier supplies into vehicles.
- Plant Care & Maintenance: Execute daily watering schedules, pruning, weeding, and basic plant maintenance across display tables and nursery grounds.
- POS & Retail Operations: Process sales transactions using the cash register/POS system, handle payments accurately, and answer phone inquiries.
- Stocking & Merchandising: Unload inventory shipments, set up retail plant displays, label stock, and keep plant tables clean, organized, and fully stocked.
- Grounds Maintenance: Keep outdoor walkways, shade structures, and retail areas clean, organized, and clear of debris.
Qualifications
- Customer Service: Minimum 1 year of retail sales or customer service experience preferred.
- Plant Passion: Interest in or basic knowledge of desert flora, cacti, and succulents and or houseplants.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to work outdoors in high heat, stand or walk for extended periods, and lift/move up to 40–50 lbs regularly.
- Reliability: Strong work ethic, attention to detail, and a positive attitude.
- Schedule: Must be available to work weekend shifts.
Pay: From $16.00 per hour
