Job Description – Human Resources Coordinator / Recruiter
Unitas is recruiting for a client company who is looking for a motivated HR Coordinator/Recruiter to join the HR team. This is a great opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys building relationships, both with hiring managers and with candidates across the local community. You'll play a key role in helping to attract, hire, and onboard great people across our manufacturing, operations, engineering, and administrative teams.
What You'll Do
As the HR Coordinator / Recruiter, you'll own the full recruiting and onboarding cycle from start to finish. You'll partner with hiring managers to understand staffing needs, source candidates through multiple channels, and guide applicants through a smooth, efficient hiring process. Day to day, you'll:
- Partner with hiring managers to understand job requirements and workforce planning needs
- Build & Maintain a Talent Pipeline: Create candidate pools from past applicants, interns, referrals, and “silver medal” candidates. Partner with high schools, technical colleges, and trade schools to build feeder programs. Attend job fairs, community events, and industry boards to proactively collect resumes.
- Speed Up Recruiting Processes: Maintain pre-approved job descriptions and postings for rapid launch. Use the applicant tracking system (ATS) to post across multiple platforms (Indeed, LinkedIn, workforce boards). Implement automated screening tools and assessments to quickly filter candidates.
- Widen the Reach: Leverage niche manufacturing and logistics job boards and actively use social media recruiting (LinkedIn, Facebook groups, TikTok) to connect with local talent.
- Screen resumes, conduct phone interviews, and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Extend job offers, prepare offer letters, and manage pre-employment requirements like background checks and drug screenings
- Track recruiting metrics and report on hiring trends to HR leadership
- Coordinate and conduct new hire onboarding and orientation
- Maintain personnel files to ensure compliance
- Coordinate and represent the company at job fairs, school partnerships, and community events
- Ensure compliance with EEOC guidelines and employment law throughout the hiring process
What We're Looking For
- Strong knowledge of full-cycle recruiting, sourcing strategies, and workforce planning.
- Experience with HRIS/ATS platforms and recruitment tools (ADP Workforce Now, Workday, Greenhouse, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with an ability to effectively manage competing priorities.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and build relationships.
- Strong organizational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple requisitions.
- Knowledge of employment law and compliance requirements.
- Ability to effectively represent the company to candidates, schools, agencies, and community partners.
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred. Equivalent experience considered.
- 2–4 years of related experience in an HR department, ideally in a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Experience recruiting both hourly production staff and salaried professionals.
- PHR, SHRM-CP, or other HR/recruiting certifications are a plus.
Physical Requirements
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
- Ability to travel locally for school partnerships, job fairs, and community events.
- Must be able to occasionally move about the plant floor and manufacturing areas.
If you're passionate about connecting great people with great opportunities and want to be part of a company that's growing, we'd love to hear from you.
