Responsibilities
- Lead the conceptualization and detailed design of BIW components and structural assemblies using advanced CAD tools.
- Collaborate closely with cross-functional teams including manufacturing, quality, and safety to ensure designs are optimized for production efficiency and compliance with industry standards.
- Conduct structural analysis and simulations to validate design integrity under various load conditions and crash scenarios.
- Develop and review technical specifications, drawings, and documentation to communicate design intent clearly.
- Support prototype development, testing phases, and iterative improvements based on test results and feedback.
- Ensure all designs adhere to safety regulations, quality standards, and company engineering guidelines throughout the product lifecycle.
- Stay updated on emerging materials, manufacturing processes, and industry trends to continuously enhance design innovation.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Automotive Engineering, or a related field; advanced degrees preferred.
- Proven experience in automotive body structure or BIW design with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
- Proficiency in CAD software such as CATIA,
- Solid understanding of structural analysis tools including FEA (Finite Element Analysis) for durability and crashworthiness assessments.
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes like stamping, welding, riveting, and assembly techniques relevant to BIW production.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail and innovation.
- Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate across multidisciplinary teams.
