Location: Bloomington, IL 61704
Schedule: Monday – Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
Duration: Contract through January 2027 (with potential for extension)
Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Soldering Technician to join our warehouse production team in Bloomington, IL. In this role, you will be responsible for the precision assembly, rework, and repair of electronic components and printed circuit boards (PCBs). This position requires a steady hand, a keen eye for detail, and a commitment to quality in an ESD-controlled environment.
What You'll Do:
Perform high-precision hand soldering and desoldering on both through-hole and SMT components.
Rework and repair PCB defects, including solder bridges, cold joints, lifted pads, damaged traces, and missing components.
Handle fine-pitch ICs and micro-components with extreme accuracy.
Inspect solder joints and component placement under a microscope to ensure IPC Class 2/3 standards are met.
Use multimeters, oscilloscopes, and other test equipment to verify assembly functionality.
Diagnose component-level issues by following troubleshooting guides and test procedures.
Accurately document repair data, test results, and root-cause findings in company systems.
Collaborate with engineering, production, and quality teams to resolve recurring issues.
Maintain a clean, organized, and ESD-safe workstation while following all grounding and safety protocols.
What You Bring:
High School Diploma or GED (electronics coursework is a plus).
2–4 years of experience in electronics assembly, PCB repair, or manufacturing.
Strong manual dexterity and exceptional attention to detail with small components.
Experience working in ESD-controlled environments.
Familiarity with electronic test equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes) is preferred.
