Requirements:
Must have caregiving experience and strong skill set. Hoyer and sit to stand experince strongly preferred
High school diploma or GED
Must have ACTIVE HCA (Home Care registry Aid Number)
Certified CPR and negative TB skin test or chest x-ray
Licensed driver with insured and reliable automobile with proof of insurance
Duties
- Assist residents with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, reporting changes, and maintaining detailed care records in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Prepare nutritious meals aligned with dietary restrictions and individual preferences, ensuring proper meal presentation and safety.
- Support medication administration according to prescribed care plans while adhering to safety protocols such as CPR and first aid procedures.
- Maintain a clean and safe environment through regular cleaning tasks, including laundry, sanitation of common areas, and infection control practices.
- Utilize equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident’s <PERSON> to assist with heavy lifting or transfers safely.
- Engage residents in social activities to promote mental stimulation and emotional well-being while respecting their autonomy.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals, social workers, and family members to develop and implement personalized care plans focused on long-term health goals.
Qualifications
- Prior experience working in group homes, assisted living facilities, nursing homes, or home & community care environments is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of dementia care, Alzheimer’s care, memory care, hospice care, and working with individuals with developmental disabilities or autism spectrum disorder is preferred.
- Certification in CPR and first aid is required; additional training in HIPAA compliance is advantageous.
- Demonstrated ability to observe patient conditions accurately and respond promptly to emergencies or changes in health status.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team.
- Physical capability for heavy lifting and assisting residents with mobility needs; good stamina for active caregiving tasks.
- Experience with medication administration, vital signs monitoring, and implementing care plans is essential.
