Summary:
Member of the Engineering Team. Leads electrical engineering projects at RCPI and ensures they are accomplished in a timely, high quality, cost-effective and safe manner. Provides a focus on reliability that will decrease machine and system downtime and increase operational efficiency. Communicates with department staff to ensure proactive and meaningful technical support to the organization.
Requirements:
Duties and Responsibilities:

Provides project management leadership in areas such as design, construction supervision and installation of major and minor equipment modifications for projects of varying size.

Provide engineering oversight of plant infrastructure repairs and new installations.

Project management including high voltage electrical power distribution and substation maintenance.

Develop new or replacement equipment requirements define scope of work, create a project plan.

Execute plan to successfully meet budget and schedules.

Troubleshoots, maintains, upgrades, and programs both dated and sophisticated machinery drives and controls.

Monitors, maintains, and upgrades power distribution systems

Successfully coordinates, plans, and communicates with all levels of the Maintenance and Engineering organizations, vendors and contractors.
Qualifications:
-
Familiarity with and exposure to power distribution design.
-
Knowledge with planning and scheduling Preventative Maintenance for Equipment.

Knowledge with maintaining and troubleshooting machines (furnaces, rolling mills, slitters, etc.)

Working knowledge and programming skills for PLC’s, HMI, and digital drives.

Familiarity with electrical software systems and languages

Experience with AC/DC systems and the National Electrical Code, standards and acceptable industry practices.

Experience working in the Electrical maintenance field and in a Union environment.

7-10 years as experienced Electrical Engineer
Special Demands:

While performing the duties of this job, will be regularly exposed to work near moving mechanical parts.

May be exposed to wet or humid conditions.

May be exposed to outdoor weather conditions.

May be regularly exposed to high noise environments.

May be exposed to extremely dusty environments.

Be willing to occasionally work off-shifts and weekends, if required.

Be willing to travel when needed.
Education / Training:
Minimum:
-
B.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
Preferred:
-
M.S. Degree in Electrical Engineering.
-
Project Management experience.
-
Experience with Lean; Behavior-Based Safety; Reliability; Preventive/Predictive Maintenance.
-
Possess superior engineering skills with experience in a heavy industrial environment.
