Friendship Hospital for Animals is seeking a full-time (approx. 32-36 hrs/week) front desk receptionist/client care provider. We are a 6-doctor small animal hospital that focuses on providing the highest standard of client service and patient care. Our hospital specializes in comprehensive canine and feline dentistry, diagnostic excellence and surgical services.
Candidates for this position must have: a passion for engaging with clients to make them feel special and appreciated, strong verbal and written communication skills, a high attention to detail and accuracy, experience in handling multiple phone lines, strong computer skills, experience handling cash and credit transactions and Saturday availability. Prior Veterinary office or medical office experience is preferred.

Job Responsibilities
- Professionally and cheerfully receives and responds to incoming calls from clients, vendors and the general public on a multiple phone line system.
- Efficiently and accurately schedules appointments and addresses client questions, triaging calls, making out-going client reminder and future appointment calls.
- Professionally and cheerfully greets clients, helping them to feel welcome during their entire time at FHA.
- Accurately checks in pets, performs weight checks, appropriately updates patient charts using AVImark Practice Management Software.
- Accurately checks out pets following appointments. Ensures payment is collected at time of service and is entered into system.
- Maintains readiness and cleanliness of exam rooms, reception area and restrooms.
- Maintains stocking of retail supplies, brochures and client courtesy snacks
- Supports all hospital initiatives and goals
- Support the Hospital Manager, Doctors and Technicians.
Skills and Basic Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills in English, both written and verbal – including strong computer proficiency, accurate typing and spelling.
- Ability to work effectively, efficiently and independently in a very fast-paced environment with constant interruptions.
- Ability to handle the physical and emotional aspect of work in a veterinary clinic environment, including lifting objects weighing up to 40 pounds without assistance, providing comfort to emotional clients, etc.
- Ability and strength to complete janitorial duties, including but not limited to, vacuuming, mopping, dusting, cleaning of restrooms and exam rooms.
- Professional and courteous in appearance and manner with all staff and clients.
- Committed to ongoing educational development and growth. Proactively seeks out learning opportunities within the hospital. Takes advantage of continued learning opportunities as appropriate.
- Has active listening, critical thinking, complex problem solving, time management, good judgment and decision making skills.
· Prior veterinary or medical office experience highly preferred.

Pay: $17.00 - $20.00 per hour
