Description:
The role of Loan Officer requires the completion of all lending activities of the Branch and providing excellent member service. A Loan Officer will process all aspects of lending from application to closing.
The successful candidate will be able to perform in-depth loan interviews and analyze member financial conditions to include credit history, credit score, collateral, ratios, and other financial information to determine acceptability of the credit request based on the credit union’s predetermined lending guidelines. Additionally, they will need to collaborate with co-workers, and management.
Responsibilities and Activities:
- Perform in-depth loan interviews and analyze member financial conditions to include credit history, credit score, collateral, ratios, and other financial information to determine acceptability of the credit request based on the credit union’s predetermined lending guidelines.
- Perform consumer underwriting process from application to close.
- Keep an accurate record of all loan applications including status of the application, documenting your work, noting the loan file, and updating the loan log.
- Assist members with all loan activities including loan applications, loan inquiries, and loan closings.
- Respond to member inquiries regarding their loan accounts.
- Look for other credit union products that may fit the member’s deposit and loan needs.
- Open new deposit accounts and complete all the proper documentation.
- Answer the phone in the Branch professionally, promptly, and pleasantly.
- Keep members’ personal information confidential.
- Ensure compliance with security and audit procedures.
- Maintain knowledge of all related compliance and regulatory issues including, but not limited to: Reg CC, Reg D, Reg E, Bank Secrecy Act, Patriot’s Act.
- Review and maintain knowledge of all Credit Union products.
- Communicate professionally with members and other credit union employees.
- Adhere to all credit union policies and procedures.
- Completes annual regulatory training and participates in other training deemed important by Management to enhance knowledge of position.
- Filing, data entry, and other clerical duties.
- Other duties as assigned.
Pay: $24.00 - $27.00 per hour
