We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Family-based Immigration Paralegal to join our dynamic legal team. Responsibilities
- Assist attorneys with preparing and reviewing immigration petitions, affidavits, and gathering supporting documentation for family-based applications.
- Interview clients (most times, in Spanish) to gather detailed information necessary for case preparation, demonstrating excellent interviewing and communication skills.
- Draft legal forms with precision, including cover letters, affidavits, and correspondence to government agencies.
- Review and proofread all filings for accuracy, consistency, and compliance with current immigration law standards.
- Support attorneys with administrative tasks such as data entry, filing, scheduling appointments, and maintaining document management systems to streamline workflow.
Skills & Experience
- Strong understanding of family-based immigration law procedures and requirements.
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple cases simultaneously.
- Effective interviewing skills to gather comprehensive client information sensitively and professionally.
- Knowledge of document review, drafting, proofreading, transcription, and legal writing techniques.
- Familiarity with administrative support functions like filing, data entry, phone etiquette, and clerical tasks.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a law office environment while demonstrating attention to detail and organizational efficiency. - The family-based immigration paralegal MUST read, write and speak Spanish. Most of our clients communicate in Spanish. Therefore, Spanish fluency is a non-negotiable.
Pay: From $20.00 per hour
