Function as a Physician Assistant and change agent incorporating the primary role of PA and the supporting roles of consultant, educator, researcher, and administrator to support quality care and positive patient outcomes for the Weight Management Clinic. This growing outpatient practice incorporates a multidisciplinary approach to patient care involving physicians, mid-level providers, dieticians, and certified diabetes educators to treat patients with obesity. The successful candidate will be expected to manage a panel of patients independently as well as work with the multidisciplinary team in a shared care model.
The department intends to hire for one position as either an ARNP, requisition 25005808 or PA, requisition 25005809, based on the qualifications of the successful candidate. Please apply to the specific position for which you which to be considered or both.

Must comply with registration and licensure requirements as specified by the Iowa Board of Physician Assistant Examiners which include graduation from an accredited PA educational program and/or certification by the NCCPA.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills are required.

Demonstrated experience in the area of clinical practice is required.

Experience in the area of weight management is highly desirable.

Experience in the area of diabetes is highly desirable.

8 half-days per week in the Weight Management outpatient clinic in various UI Health Care locations and telehealth. Clinics are likely to be scheduled Monday-Friday in the morning, afternoon, or evening; however, Saturday clinics may be needed if clinic space is not available.
