Overview
We are seeking an energetic and motivated Retail Assistant Manager to join our dynamic team. In this pivotal role, you will lead daily store operations, supervise sales associates, and ensure an exceptional customer experience. Your leadership will drive sales growth, manage inventory, and uphold operational excellence across all store functions. Duties
- Oversee daily store operations, including opening and closing procedures, cash handling, and POS (Point of Sale) system management
- Lead, motivate, and supervise retail sales team members to achieve sales targets and deliver outstanding customer service
- Manage inventory control, stock replenishment, merchandising, and purchasing to optimize product availability and presentation
- Conduct employee orientation, training & development sessions, and performance evaluations to foster a high-performing team
- Handle customer inquiries, resolve complaints promptly, and ensure a positive shopping experience
- Assist with recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing and onboarding new staff members
- Coordinate shift management and operational tasks to ensure smooth store functioning at all times
Skills
- Proven management experience within the retail industry, including supervising teams and managing store operations
- Strong negotiation skills for vendor relations, purchasing negotiations, and conflict resolution
- Excellent communication skills in multiple languages or bilingual abilities are highly desirable
- Demonstrated expertise in inventory management, bookkeeping, payroll processing, and cash handling
- Proficiency with POS systems, retail math calculations, pricing strategies, and sales management tools
- Ability to lead training initiatives in customer service excellence and operational procedures
- Sound organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks efficiently in a fast-paced environment
- Experience with marketing activities, merchandising strategies, and wireless sales is a plus
- Knowledge of grocery store operations or similar retail sectors is advantageous
- Strong leadership qualities with the ability to motivate teams through effective managerial communication and coaching
