Duties
- Assess patient respiratory status through detailed evaluation of vital signs, lung sounds, and physiology knowledge to determine appropriate therapy plans.
- Administer respiratory treatments including oxygen therapy, nebulizers, and medication delivery with precision and adherence to medical terminology standards.
- Manage ventilators and airway devices, ensuring proper functioning and patient safety during acute care procedures in ICU, PICU, OR, or emergency settings.
- Monitor patient responses during therapy sessions, adjusting ventilator settings and medications as needed based on patient assessment and clinical protocols.
- Document all interventions accurately in medical records, including vital signs, medication administration, and response to treatments, maintaining compliance with hospital policies.
- Collaborate with physicians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals in hospital medicine, trauma centers, outpatient clinics, and geriatrics units to develop comprehensive care plans.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations involving airway management or critical care needs, demonstrating expertise in airway procedures and BLS (Basic Life Support).
Qualifications
- Valid licensure or certification as a Respiratory Therapist from an accredited program.
- Proven experience in hospital environments such as ICU, PICU, OR, or emergency medicine with a strong foundation in critical care experience.
- Knowledge of pulmonology principles, anatomy knowledge related to respiratory systems, and physiology knowledge essential for effective patient assessment.
- Hands-on experience with ventilator management and airway management techniques in acute care settings.
- Familiarity with medical terminology and medication administration protocols relevant to inpatient and outpatient care.
- Demonstrated ability to work efficiently within Level I trauma centers or Level II trauma centers environments.

Pay: $36.00 - $41.00 per hour
