Popovers on the Square is looking for a dependable and motivated Line Cook to join our culinary team in Epping!
We're looking for someone who enjoys working with food, takes pride in quality and consistency, and works well as part of a team. Our kitchen serves a diverse menu in a busy café and restaurant environment, making this a great opportunity for an experienced cook or someone looking to continue developing their culinary skills.
Full-time and part-time opportunities are available.
What You'll Do
As a Line Cook, you'll work alongside our culinary team to prepare and execute menu items efficiently and consistently throughout service.
Responsibilities include:
- Prepare and cook menu items according to Popovers recipes and standards
- Work assigned stations including grill, sauté, fry, sandwich, salad, breakfast, and other areas as needed
- Set up and properly stock your station before service
- Prepare ingredients and complete daily prep as needed
- Maintain quality, consistency, portioning, and presentation standards
- Keep your station clean, organized, and properly stocked throughout your shift
- Properly label, date, rotate, and store food
- Follow food safety and sanitation procedures
- Communicate effectively with fellow cooks and front-of-house team members
- Assist other stations during busy periods
- Complete opening, closing, stocking, and cleaning responsibilities
What We're Looking For
- Previous line cook or professional kitchen experience preferred
- Basic knife and food preparation skills
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen
- Dependable and punctual
- Positive attitude and strong work ethic
- Ability to follow recipes, procedures, and direction
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Willingness to learn and work multiple stations
- Ability to stay organized and focused during busy services
- Availability for a variety of shifts, including weekends
