We are seeking a part-time (30 hours) Dog Daycare Attendant who is a hard-working, dog-loving and is interested in becoming part of our pack. The right candidate must work weekdays 1:30-6:30pm or 1:30-8pm. The Ruff House offers high quality boarding, daycare and spa services for dogs of all breeds and sizes. We are passionate about dogs and have the highest standards when it comes to the comfort, safety, and happiness of our clients and staff. We are looking for hardworking, motivated individuals that love dogs.
As a Dog Daycare Attendant, you will be part of all day play with our lovable dogs. You will supervise, control, and manage group play. You will be responsible for maintaining a fun, safe, and enriching play for all our canine guests! Additionally, you will build individual relationships with all dogs in group, as each dog receives a daily, personalized report card summarizing their day! Last but not least, the Dog Daycare Attendant will be responsible for the evening boarding let outs and perform various cleaning duties to keep the kennel building and suites clean & tidy.
The positions are physically demanding and require you to be on your feet for long periods of time. A successful candidate will be a significant canine lover, pay excellent attention to detail, set and maintain high standards for sanitation and cleanliness, have the exceptional ability to multitask, time manage, and adapt to change.
Job Duties:
- Socializing with dogs in a free-play environment and monitoring their behavior to ensure a safe atmosphere for all four-legged clients
- Monitoring dogs and communicating any relevant issues during their stay
- Safely moving dogs around facility from customer drop-off to kennels and play yards
- Checking dogs in at morning drop off and checking out at afternoon pick up
- Light reception duties such as scheduling appointments, answering calls with a friendly, professional attitude
- Sanitizing/cleaning kennels
- Sanitizing environments throughout the day, including washing bowls and keeping up with laundry
- Cleaning up after pets so play areas are clean and sanitary
- Prepping meals and medicating animals as needed
- Walking and letting out boarding dogs
- Bathing, drying and brushing out dogs. Clipping nails; using Dremel.
- Participate in ongoing animal behavior education
Qualifications:
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- Ability to work in any weather condition, ability to lift up to 50 lbs or more, and ability to stand for a long duration of time
- Must have a driver's license and their own transportation.
- Must be punctual and dependable
- Must love dogs and be comfortable with dogs of all breeds and sizes
- Ability to stay calm and think clearly in stressful situations
- Experience in managing a group of dogs and recognizing canine behavioral signs is a plus
- Friendly and professional manner with customers
- Team player, follows directions, and is self-motivated
MUST be able to work weekends, evening and holiday hours - this is non-negotiable. Our facility is open 7 days a week, 365 days a year.
