Job Summary
Location: Remote (Nationwide Travel up to 80%)
We are seeking experienced Protection & Control (P&C) Field Services Technicians to support high-voltage substation testing, commissioning, and maintenance projects across the U.S. This is a travel-intensive field role ideal for professionals with strong hands-on experience in protective relay testing and electrical substation commissioning.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform testing and commissioning of Protection & Control systems for substations ranging from 15kV–500kV.
- Conduct protective relay testing using Omicron CMC 256/356, Doble F6150, and similar test equipment.
- Test and troubleshoot SEL, GE, Basler, and Beckwith protective relays.
- Perform CT/PT verification, control scheme testing, relay settings validation, and functional testing.
- Maintain accurate field documentation, test reports, calibration records, and safety compliance.
- Follow NETA, IEEE, and NFPA standards while supporting field commissioning activities.
Required Qualifications
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in high-voltage substation testing and commissioning.
- Strong experience with circuit breakers, transformers, instrument transformers, and P&C systems.
- Proficiency with relay testing software such as Omicron Test Universe, AcSELerator QuickSet, ENOSERV RTS, ProTesT, or Protection Suite.
- Familiarity with transmission, generation, or distribution protective relays.
- Valid driver's license and willingness to travel up to 80% nationwide.
- Ability to work outdoors in physically demanding environments.
Preferred: Experience with Omicron CMC 256/356 or Doble F6150 relay test sets is highly desirable.
Pay: $50.00 - $85.00 per hour
