What You'll Do
As a Driver Education Instructor, you'll help students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become safe, lifelong drivers.
Responsibilities include:
- Teaching classroom driver education courses through engaging discussions, activities, and presentations
- Providing behind-the-wheel driving instruction
- Creating a positive, supportive, and interactive learning environment
- Coaching students as they develop safe driving habits and decision-making skills
- Communicating student progress and providing constructive feedback to students and parents
- Following All Star's proven curriculum, lesson plans, and instructional materials

Minimum Qualifications
- Valid 5+ year Michigan driver's license with a safe driving record
- Ability to pass a background check, physical examination, and drug screening
- Strong communication and presentation skills
- Willingness to complete the State-required Instructor Preparation Program (IPP)
Become a Certified Driver Education Instructor
Our Instructor Preparation Program (IPP) prepares candidates to become State-Certified Driver Education Instructors in approximately four months.
The program consists of:
- 501 - Driver Task Analysis (45 hours)
- 502 - Developing Classroom Instructional Knowledge (45 hours)
- 503 - Developing Vehicle Operational Skills (45 hours)
- 504 - Student Teaching Practicum (45 hours)
