Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Flooring Helper / Installer to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will assist with the installation, restoration, and maintenance of various flooring types, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards. Duties
- Support the installation of diverse flooring materials including hardwood, vinyl, tile, epoxy, and carpet in residential and commercial settings
- Prepare work areas by cleaning, measuring, and setting up tools and materials according to project specifications
- Assist with interpreting technical drawings and construction plans to ensure accurate installation
- Use hand tools and power tools safely and efficiently for cutting, fitting, and securing flooring components
- Handle building materials with care, including caulking, trim carpentry, fixture installation, and floor refinishing
- Maintain a clean work environment by organizing supplies and disposing of debris in compliance with safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to ensure projects are completed on time and meet quality standards
Skills
- Experience in construction estimating and interpreting technical drawings is highly desirable
- Proficiency with hand tools such as saws, drills, chisels, and caulking guns; familiarity with power tools is essential
- Knowledge of various flooring installation techniques including hardwood, vinyl, tile laying, epoxy floor installation, and carpet installation
- Strong manual handling skills for lifting heavy materials safely during installation or restoration projects
- Understanding of building material installation procedures and floor care practices
- Ability to follow construction plans accurately while adhering to safety protocols for building installation safety compliance
- Background in restoration industry experience or water damage restoration is a plus
- Skills in remodeling, construction painting, buffing floors, and water damage restoration enhance versatility
- Excellent teamwork skills combined with a proactive attitude toward learning new skills such as floor refinishing or fixture installation
