SUMMARY
Ideal Candidate – Technical Skills & Abilities
1. Electrical & Power Distribution
Understands single‑phase and three‑phase power (120V, 208V, 240V, 480V basic familiarity)
Can safely identify and troubleshoot issues on industrial building power lines (lighting, receptacle circuits, disconnects)
Knows how to use a multimeter and clamp meter to check voltage, current, and continuity
2. Equipment Control Panels
Able to open, visually inspect, and troubleshoot control panels on packaging equipment
Understands low voltage signals (24V DC, 4‑20mA, 0‑10V) and basic wiring of sensors, relays, and contactors
Can read and follow electrical schematics (ladder diagrams)
3. PLC Basics & Programming
Has basic PLC programming ability (able to go online with a PLC, monitor logic, change small programs)
Can identify a faulty input/output and understand what the PLC is trying to do
Not required: Full system integration or complex structured text – just enough to keep production running
4. Complete Small to Medium Electrical Jobs
Comfortable taking a project from start to finish – e.g., running conduit, pulling wire, terminating, testing
Can perform electrical modifications (adding a new motor starter, relocating a sensor, installing a disconnect)
Follows safe LOTO (Lock‑Out/Tag‑Out) procedures without being reminded
5. Willing to Help Beyond Pure Tech Work
Helps keep the shop organized – parts inventory, tool cleanup, labeling spare components
Open to other reasonable tasks (changing a light bulb, helping mechanics, basic cleaning around electrical panels)
