Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our dynamic dental team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in providing high-quality patient care while assisting the dentist during various procedures. This position requires a strong understanding of dental terminology, infection control practices, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. Experience with Dentrix, is highly desirable.
Responsibilities
- Assist the dentist during examinations and procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques.
- Prepare and maintain the treatment area, ensuring compliance with aseptic techniques and infection control protocols.
- Take and develop dental X-rays, ensuring adherence to safety standards and regulations.
- Manage patient records and medical documentation in accordance with HIPAA guidelines.
- Provide chairside assistance during various dental procedures including general dentistry, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices and post-treatment care.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in medical imaging as required.
- Utilize 3D scanners for imaging when necessary.
- Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling appointments and managing dental reception duties as needed.
Qualifications
- Proven experience as a Dental Assistant or in a similar role within a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with DentriX.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology is essential.
- Excellent communication skills with a patient-centered approach to care.
- Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in both clinical and administrative tasks.
