Position Overview:
The Raymond Police Department in partnership with the Raymond School District/SAU 33 is seeking a dedicated and community-focused Part-Time School Resource Officer (SRO) to join our team. The SRO will serve as a visible and approachable law enforcement presence at the Raymond High School, helping ensure the safety and well-being of students, staff, and visitors while fostering positive relationships between the school community and law enforcement.
Key Responsibilities:
- Maintain a safe and secure learning environment on school grounds.
- Serve as a resource to students, staff, and parents regarding safety and security matters.
- Assist in the development and implementation of emergency preparedness plans.
- Build positive relationships with students to promote trust and open communication.
- Enforce state and local laws and conduct investigations as necessary, in coordination with school policies.
- Provide safety presentations, mentorship, and support for student programs.
- Respond to incidents, emergencies, or concerns as they arise on campus.
Qualifications:
- Current certification as a law enforcement officer.
- Strong communication, interpersonal, and conflict-resolution skills.
- Ability to work effectively with students, parents, staff, and community members.
- Commitment to serving as a positive role model for youth.
Schedule & Compensation:
- Part-time position, approximately 7 hours/5 days per week.
- Work schedule aligned with the school calendar.
- Hourly wage of $35.00.
