Job Summary
We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Closing Toddler Teacher (1's and 2's) to join our vibrant early childhood education team. In this role, you will create a nurturing, engaging, and safe environment for young children during the critical closing hours of the day. Your energy and enthusiasm will inspire children to explore, learn, and grow while ensuring their safety and well-being. This position offers an exciting opportunity to make a meaningful impact on early childhood development by providing high-quality care and educational support tailored to toddlers’ unique needs. Hours will be 230-530 pm.
Responsibilities
- Supervise and engage children aged 12 months to 24 months during the afternoon and evening hours, fostering a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
- Implement age-appropriate activities that promote social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development aligned with early childhood education standards.
- Ensure the safety of all children by maintaining vigilant supervision, adhering to child supervision protocols, and managing behavior with positive guidance strategies.
- Communicate effectively with parents or guardians regarding their child's daily experiences, milestones, and any concerns that arise during your shift.
- Maintain a clean, organized classroom environment that supports learning and safety, including sanitizing toys and materials regularly.
- Follow all mandated reporting laws and health guidelines, including pediatric first aid and CPR procedures, to respond promptly to emergencies or injuries.
- Collaborate with team members to plan daily schedules, classroom routines, and developmental assessments that support each child's growth trajectory.
Requirements
- Prior experience working with young children in daycare centers, preschools, or similar settings is essential; classroom management skills are highly valued.
- Knowledge of childhood development instruction methods tailored for toddlers aged 1 to 2 years.
- Certification in first aid, CPR (cardiopulmonary resuscitation), including pediatric first aid training.
- Familiarity with special education strategies or experience working with children with disabilities is a plus.
- Strong communication skills for effective parent interaction and teamwork within a collaborative environment.
- Ability to follow health protocols related to childcare safety standards and mandated reporting laws.
- Passion for early childhood education with a focus on nurturing growth through caregiving, behavior management, and developmental activities.
