Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Cashier/Stocker to join our team in a fast-paced grocery store environment. This role is essential in providing excellent customer service while efficiently managing transactions and maintaining product availability on the sales floor. Responsibilities
- Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system to process customer transactions efficiently.
- Handle cash, credit, and debit transactions with accuracy and integrity.
- Provide exceptional customer service by greeting customers and assisting with inquiries.
- Upsell products and promote special offers to enhance sales opportunities.
- Maintain a clean and organized checkout area, ensuring all merchandise is properly displayed.
- Stock shelves and maintain product displays to ensure merchandise is organized and visually appealing.
- Assist in merchandising efforts by arranging products according to store standards and promotions.
- Support inventory management by monitoring stock levels and reporting shortages or discrepancies.
- Utilize retail math skills to manage cash handling and ensure accurate till balances.
- Exhibit strong phone etiquette when addressing customer calls or inquiries.
Experience
- Previous experience in cashiering or retail sales is preferred.
- Familiarity with cash handling procedures and basic math skills is essential.
- Upselling techniques to encourage additional purchases during transactions.
- Knowledge of merchandising principles to create attractive product displays.
- Experience in stocking shelves efficiently while adhering to safety standards.
- Background in retail sales with an understanding of customer needs and preferences.
- Strong communication skills are necessary for effective interaction with customers and team members.
