Wardenclyffe Electronic Security (WES) is a growing electronic security systems integrator based in Long Island City, NY. We specialize in commercial access control, CCTV, video intercom, and integrated low-voltage security systems for office buildings, residential properties, hotels, schools, government facilities, and commercial clients throughout the New York City area.
We are seeking a skilled Commercial Locksmith / Low Voltage Technician to join our team. Candidates with commercial locksmith experience are highly encouraged to apply. We also welcome applicants with transferable experience in commercial electrical work, low-voltage systems, access control, CCTV, networking, or structured cabling. Training will be provided for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and service commercial door hardware and locking systems.
- Install electric strikes, magnetic locks (maglocks), panic hardware, door closers, and exit devices.
- Install, troubleshoot, and maintain access control systems, CCTV cameras, and related security equipment.
- Install and terminate low-voltage cabling.
- Perform service calls, maintenance, and system troubleshooting.
- Read construction drawings and installation plans.
- Coordinate with project managers, contractors, and customers on job sites.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and professional work environment.
Qualifications
- Experience as a commercial locksmith or installing commercial door hardware.
- Experience with electric strikes, maglocks, panic hardware, exit devices, and door closers.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience using hand and power tools.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Valid driver's license preferred.
Preferred Qualifications
Experience with any of the following is a plus, but not required:
- Access control systems
- CCTV systems
- Low-voltage wiring
- Commercial electrical work
- Structured cabling
- Networking
- Avigilon Alta, Brivo, Openpath, ButterflyMX, HID, Mercury, or similar security systems
- OSHA 30 or SST certification
Pay: $18.00 - $30.00 per hour
