The IV nurse will help support the rapid growth and smooth operations of the clinic’s Lab and Infusion Services, enabling the delivery of next-generation mind-body medicine.

A Licensed Vocational Nurse (LVN) with IV certification, clinical experience, proven abilities and relevant training in venipuncture, preparing and administering infusions, injections, and lab processing.

Is passionate about holistic health and wellness (ideally has prior experience in or exposure to integrative / functional / regenerative medicine,) and is enthusiastic about ongoing learning and development about leading-edge integrative therapies, research and technologies.

Key Responsibilities
The Associate IV Infusion Nurse will:

Assess patient needs and coordinate the delivery of high quality, compassionate clinical care under the supervision of doctors and nurses.

Place, start, manage, monitor and discontinue peripheral IV lines
-
Prepare and administer various infusions: allergy injections, reconstituting IV therapies as instructed by the medical team (i.e., nutritional IV’s, IV antibiotics, etc.)

Perform blood draws and process samples for diagnostic testing under the guidance of Nursing Manager and in compliance with latest guidelines and standards.

Collect patient vitals, history and progress, maintain up-to-date and accurate documentation of nursing care provided, to ensure the integration of information for use by the clinical care team, for ongoing quality care.

Monitor patient flow, and support Nursing Manager in optimizing lab and IV lounge operations to maximize quality assurance, operational efficiency, clinical effectiveness and profitability.
Key Qualifications
-
Education: Graduate of an accredited LVN program, with IV Certification.

Licensing: Valid license to practice as a Licensed Vocational Nurse in the State of California and valid IV certification.

Certifications: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification and valid IV certification.

Clinical Experience: Minimum of 2 years required, ideally with IV Therapy:
-
Must have the ability to place and start peripheral IVs, maintain IV infusion therapies, calculate drip rate and discontinue IV lines.

Draw blood and process lab specimen for diagnostic testing.
-
Prepare and administer injections and infusions (reconstituting medications)Gain and demonstrate knowledge of and adherence to Good Clinical Practices, OSHA Standards, protocols and safety guidelines.

Experience in Outpatient / Specialty / Integrative / Functional Medicine Clinics, or Hospital environments strongly preferred.
Administrative / Operations Experience:

Proficiency with Mac OS X+, Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace

Ability to use clinic’s electronic medical record (EMR) system (Elation Health), phone system (Spruce).

Attention to detail; strong interpersonal skills; excellent verbal and written English communication skills to coordinate with fellow team members and outside institutions; and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment while working with a diverse patient population.

Work well independently, effective time manager (of patient flow and task / project completion) and prioritize multiple projects to ensure the completion of essential tasks by deadlines.

Maintain cooperative working relationships with clinical and administrative teams, and handle patient interactions with compassion and dedication.

Exposure to / interest in integrative, mind-body medicine is ideal.

Interest in contributing to the growth and continued leadership of a pioneering clinic of integrative medicine.
Additional details:

This role will start as a part-time position, approximately 30 hours a week, with growth potential for full-time.

The position will be in-person, onsite at the clinic in the West Portal neighborhood of San Francisco, during normal clinic hours, Monday-Friday between 8:30 am – 5:00 pm (exact schedule TBD with Hiring Managers).

Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience, within the range of $35 - 45 per hour (for a part-time role), and intended to ultimately transition into a full-time salaried position.
