Mind of Christ Christian Academy (MOCCA) is seeking a caring, dependable Early Childhood Teacher for our small, faith-based childcare program. We are beginning with a four-child classroom serving children approximately 18 months through 3 years old.
The ideal candidate is patient, nurturing, organized, and passionate about helping young children grow spiritually, socially, emotionally, and academically. Because we are a small program, the teacher must be comfortable providing hands-on care and maintaining a safe, welcoming classroom.
Responsibilities
- Provide attentive care and supervision throughout the day
- Lead age-appropriate lessons, Bible activities, music, art, sensory play, and movement
- Follow MOCCA’s curriculum and daily schedule
- Assist with diapering, toilet learning, meals, snacks, and rest time
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe classroom
- Document daily activities and developmental progress
- Communicate professionally with parents and academy leadership
- Follow all health, safety, emergency, and child-release procedures
- Complete required training and maintain staff records
- Protect the privacy of children and families
Minimum requirements
- At least 18 years old
- High school diploma or GED
- Experience caring for toddlers or preschool-aged children
- Dependable transportation and consistent attendance
- Ability to pass all required background and registry checks
- Willingness to complete required Tennessee childcare training
- CPR and First Aid certification or willingness to obtain certification
- Comfortable working in a Christian, faith-centered environment
- Able to lift and assist young children and participate in floor and outdoor activities
Preferred qualifications
- Previous daycare, preschool, church nursery, or early-childhood experience
- CDA credential or coursework in early childhood education
- Current pediatric CPR and First Aid certification
- Familiarity with positive guidance and developmental learning
Pay: From $12.50 per hour
