New System Plumbing Inc. is seeking an experienced Commercial Construction Journeyman Plumber to join our growing team. We are looking for a skilled professional who takes pride in quality workmanship, works well independently and as part of a team, and has experience with commercial construction and tenant improvement projects.
This position offers an opportunity to work on a variety of commercial projects throughout the Portland Metropolitan area, including tenant improvements, remodels, additions, and ground-up construction.
Position Summary
The Commercial Construction Journeyman Plumber will perform plumbing installations for commercial construction and tenant improvement projects. The successful candidate will be responsible for coordinating work in the field, interpreting plans and specifications, maintaining project schedules, and ensuring all work complies with applicable plumbing codes and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Install water, waste, vent, and natural gas piping systems.
- Perform underground, rough-in, top-out, and finish plumbing installations.
- Install plumbing fixtures, water heaters, pumps, and specialty equipment.
- Complete commercial tenant improvement, remodel, and new construction projects.
- Read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and project documents.
- Coordinate work with general contractors, project managers, and other trades.
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with Oregon plumbing codes.
- Prepare material lists and assist with project planning.
- Maintain accurate project documentation and daily reports as required.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe jobsite.
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and professionally.
Required Qualifications
- Current Oregon Journeyman Plumber License.
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record.
- Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check.
- Experience in commercial plumbing construction.
- Experience with tenant improvement, remodel, and new construction projects.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and specifications.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently manage projects from start to finish.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively with contractors, inspectors, and project teams.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
- Positive attitude and commitment to completing projects safely and efficiently.
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in active construction environments.
The Ideal Candidate
Additional qualifications that will help you succeed in this role include:
- Washington State Journeyman Plumber License.
- Experience leading small crews or mentoring apprentices.
- Experience with commercial tenant improvements and occupied-space remodels.
- Strong organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to coordinate multiple tasks and meet project deadlines.
- Professional appearance and communication skills.
- Experience working directly with general contractors and project managers
