American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Med/Surg Tele position requiring at least 2 years of recent acute care experience, telemetry competency, and an active MA RN license.

Night shift position: 12-hour shifts, 7p–7:30a, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend required
-
Every other holiday required

Staff will float between cardiac units and med/surg units and must be able to adapt quickly to different unit environments

Cardiac medical-surgical patient population with telemetry monitoring
-
Meditech IV experience utilized in this setting

Epic EMR experience strongly preferred
-
13-week contract
-
Active MA RN license required
-
Current BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications required
-
Minimum 2 years of recent acute care experience required; 3–5 years of med/surg tele experience preferred

Recent cardiac nursing experience expected
-
Must be able to independently read and interpret telemetry strips
-
Must pass an on-site telemetry exam on Day 1 with a score of 84% or higher (2 attempts allowed)

Must pass the Relias Advanced Dysrhythmia Test (Test A or B) prior to consideration

Candidates must reside 30 or more miles from the facility to be eligible

Two professional references required: at least one must be from a manager-level or above (title must reflect 'Manager,' not 'Supervisor'), and must include a performance evaluation

One reference must be dated within the past 12 months; the second may be within the past 3 years
-
References cannot be provided by another traveler

Copy of driver's license required

MA Primary License Verification and Nursys for MA required

Provide cardiac medical-surgical nursing care while floating between cardiac and med/surg units as needed
-
No extended RTO or specific schedule requests will be accommodated

At least one reference from a prior travel or temporary assignment is preferred
