Duties
- Greet guests warmly upon arrival and manage their seating preferences to ensure a positive first impression
- Handle restaurant reservation management using various table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS
- Maintain an organized waitlist and communicate wait times clearly via phone and in person
- Answer incoming phone calls with professional phone etiquette, providing accurate information and taking reservations or messages as needed
- Coordinate with servers and kitchen staff to optimize table turnover and guest flow
- Assist with guest services by addressing inquiries, resolving concerns promptly, and ensuring guest satisfaction
- Support food safety standards by maintaining cleanliness in the host station and adhering to health regulations
Requirements
- Previous host/hostess experience or food service experience preferred but not required; enthusiasm and willingness to learn are essential
- Strong communication skills, including clear phone communication and excellent interpersonal abilities
- Proficiency with restaurant table management systems such as Aloha POS or Micros POS; familiarity with POS systems is a plus
- Basic math skills for handling reservations, seating calculations, and guest payments when necessary
- Exceptional organizational skills to manage reservations, waitlists, and guest flow efficiently
- Knowledge of food safety standards and hospitality best practices
- Experience in hotel or restaurant environments is advantageous but not mandatory; a background in serving or guest relations is beneficial
- Ability to stand for extended periods, lift light loads, and work in a fast-paced setting
