Job Overview
New Age Psych Behavioral Health Services is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Family Support Counselor to join our team. This is an in-person, part-time position (24–30 hours per week) focused on supporting children and families who may be experiencing behavioral health, social, or family-related challenges.
In this role, you will provide direct support to families, assist with crisis intervention, coordinate resources, and help promote stability and well-being. The ideal candidate is passionate about helping families navigate difficult situations and is committed to creating positive outcomes for children and caregivers.
Responsibilities
- Conduct assessments to identify the needs of families and children.
- Develop and implement individualized support plans tailored to each family’s unique situation.
- Provide crisis intervention and emotional support when immediate challenges arise.
- Collaborate with community resources, schools, healthcare providers, and social service agencies.
- Facilitate family meetings and provide guidance on communication and conflict resolution.
- Support families with parenting strategies and behavioral health resources.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of services, assessments, and progress notes.
- Advocate for clients and assist families in accessing appropriate community supports.
- Monitor ongoing cases and follow up to ensure families receive needed services.
Requirements
- Experience working with children, adolescents, and families.
- Knowledge of child welfare, behavioral health, crisis intervention, or related services.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage challenging situations in a calm and supportive manner.
- Strong organizational skills and attention to documentation.
- Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Genuine commitment to improving the lives of children and families.
