Position Summary
Develops the planning inputs for the Sales, Inventory & Operations Planning process Develops the monthly consensus forecast for their assigned product families, industries and operating groups Analyzes capacity requirements and develops staffing plans to support the demand forecast Ensures adherence to the established stocking strategies and inventory plans in order to meet customer lead times Operates in support of global operations including plans for export sales and supply of intermediated and finished goods to operations globally Provides guidance and support in the formulation of planning and order fulfillment processes.
Responsibilities
Develop and maintain a monthly consensus forecast across multiple market segments and manufacturing facilities
Use the forecasting system to generate statistical forecast of customer demand and analyze exceptions based on pre-established error parameters
Monitor, analyze, and adjust forecast inputs from sales and marketing, business unit promotions, events and market conditions to ensure demand plans based on the best information available
Provide demand and supply planning information and analysis to the industries and operating groups
Ensure daily and monthly exceptions and alerts for forecast accuracy, data integrity and supply delivery are addressed in a timely manner
Participate in SI&OP discussions, facilitate Demand, Supply and Balancing Reviews, prepare meeting minutes and follow up on action items
Facilitate monthly labor and machine capacity reviews and participate in cross-functional teams to resolve projected supply / demand imbalances
Analyze and provide guidance on the appropriate stocking strategies to support agreed upon lead times and targeted delivery levels
Provide input on the Annual Operating Plan (AOP)
Prepare, analyze and support inventory analysis to achieve defined inventory performance objectives
Actively engage the appropriate functions to take corrective action in lower-than- target performance management metrics related to planning
Drive ongoing SI&OP process improvements through appropriate root causing and corrective action
Review customer agreements regarding terms for demand planning, order quantities, lead time requirements and safety stock guidelines to ensure due diligence and appropriate flow-down to the organization
Provide leadership and guidance during global integration and acquisition integration based on standard work and best practices
Qualifications
Qualifications
Required:
B.S. Degree, preferably in related science discipline or in business
Minimum of 3 – 5 years of experience in marketing, sales, product management or operations function
Considerable experience in forecasting, demand planning or supply planning
Experience dealing with and communicating results, metrics and root cause corrective action
Excellent communication and teamwork skills with ability to give effective presentations
Strong problem-solving capabilities.
Ability to manage several projects simultaneously using effective planning and communication skills
Must be detail-oriented, with the ability to create, analyze and manipulate large data files
Ability to make informed decisions in ambiguous situations, effectively navigating the ‘gray area’ to achieve optimal outcomes
Skill in detecting errors or inconsistencies in data and understanding the potential impacts of these discrepancies
Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
Demonstrated proficiency with ERP / MRP systems and data reporting tools
Excellent math and quantitative reasoning skills
Ability to travel to domestic and international sites
US Citizen or US Permanent resident
Preferred:
Experience with products and technologies of primary market segments or product lines
Certified Professional Forecaster / APICS certification
Green Belt / Lean / Value Stream Mapping training
