Job Summary
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated CNC Lathe Machinist to join our dynamic manufacturing team. In this role, you will operate and program CNC lathes to produce precision components that meet strict quality standards. Duties
- Set up, operate, and program CNC lathe machines using Fanuc controls or similar systems to produce complex parts with precision.
- Interpret detailed blueprints, technical drawings, and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing) specifications to ensure accurate machining.
- Utilize CNC programming skills to develop and modify programs for optimal performance and quality output.
- Conduct precise measurements using calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, coordinate measuring machines (CMM), and other precision measuring instruments to verify dimensions.
- Perform routine machine maintenance, tool changes, and troubleshooting to minimize downtime and maintain high productivity levels.
- Read and interpret engineering drawings created with CAD (Computer-Aided Design) software such as SolidWorks or similar programs.
- Use hand tools, tooling, power tools as needed for part finishing or assembly tasks.
- Follow lean manufacturing principles to improve efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance safety practices on the shop floor.
- Maintain detailed documentation of production activities, inspections, and quality checks for traceability.
- Assist in training new team members on CNC lathe operation and safety procedures as needed.
Skills
- Proven experience operating CNC lathes with Fanuc or comparable control systems.
- Strong knowledge of CNC programming languages such as G-code and M-code, MasterCam experience a huge plus.
- Expertise in reading blueprints and applying GD&T standards for precise manufacturing.
- Mechanical aptitude with a solid understanding of machining processes, tooling selection, and setup procedures.
- Proficiency in CAD/CAM software including MasterCam and other design tools for part development and programming.
- Ability to use precision measurement instruments like calipers, micrometers, bore gauges, and coordinate measuring machines accurately.
- Basic math skills necessary for calculating dimensions, tolerances, and machine offsets.
- Knowledge of manufacturing environments emphasizing lean principles for continuous improvement.
- Strong attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and the ability to work efficiently under pressure while maintaining safety standards.
