Duties
- Perform landscape maintenance tasks including mowing, pruning, trimming trees, and edging lawns to ensure pristine outdoor spaces.
- Utilize hand tools and power tools for planting, soil preparation, and installing landscape features such as patios, walkways, and retaining walls.
- Operate heavy machinery like excavators and other construction equipment safely to assist with site preparation and hardscape installation.
- Conduct lawn care activities such as aeration, fertilization, overseeding, and snow plowing during appropriate seasons to keep landscapes healthy year-round.
- Maintain irrigation systems by inspecting for leaks or malfunctions and performing necessary repairs to ensure proper watering schedules.
- Assist with tree care including trimming, pruning, planting new trees, and ensuring overall tree health through proper horticultural practices.
- Support garden development by planting flowers, shrubs, and other greenery while adhering to sustainable landscaping principles.
Experience
- Prior experience in landscaping or horticulture is preferred but not mandatory; enthusiasm for outdoor work is essential.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems related to lawn care equipment, irrigation systems, and construction machinery is highly desirable.
- Familiarity with landscape maintenance techniques such as mowing, edging, pruning, and fertilizing.
- Ability to operate hand tools (shovels, rakes), power tools (trimmers, blowers), and heavy machinery (excavators) safely and efficiently.
- Understanding of plant care including tree trimming, gardening practices, and hardscape installation methods.
- Strong physical stamina with the ability to perform manual labor outdoors in various weather conditions.
