Firefighter/EMT – Stennis Space Center

Responsibilities:

Respond to fire alarms and emergencies with rapid, effective fire suppression, rescue operations, and Basic Life Support (BLS) care.

Perform advanced rescue functions, including vehicle extrication and high-risk incident support across structural, industrial, and aircraft environments.

Maintain constant readiness by inspecting, operating, and servicing apparatus, equipment, PPE, and station facilities.

Participate in ongoing training, drills, and certifications to build expertise in firefighting, EMS, technical rescue, and HazMat operations.

Uphold safety standards, SOPs, and professional excellence while completing accurate reports and supporting fire prevention and community safety efforts.

Qualifications:

High school diploma or GED; must be at least 21 years of age

Current NREMT certification and Mississippi EMT certification (or ability to obtain)

Firefighter II certification (IFSAC, Pro Board, Mississippi, or equivalent)

EVOC certification and completion of NIMS ICS 100, 200, 700, and 800

HazMat Operations and Technical Rescue Awareness certifications (with ability to advance to Technician level)
