Legal Secretary
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00 AM–5:00 PM
Salary: $35,000–$50,000 annually, depending on experience

Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, organized, and dependable Legal Secretary to provide administrative and clerical support within a fast-paced legal office. This individual will play an important role in keeping daily operations organized, maintaining accurate legal files and documents, communicating professionally with clients, and supporting attorneys with a variety of administrative and case-related responsibilities.
The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, reliable, comfortable handling confidential information, and able to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of professionalism.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide administrative and secretarial support to attorneys and legal staff
- Prepare, format, proofread, and organize legal correspondence and documents
- Draft routine letters, notices, forms, and other documents as directed
- Maintain organized physical and electronic client files
- Answer and direct incoming telephone calls professionally
- Communicate with clients, courts, attorneys, vendors, and other outside parties
- Schedule appointments, meetings, hearings, and other calendar events
- Maintain attorney calendars and assist with deadline tracking
- Assist with document filing, scanning, copying, mailing, and electronic filing
- Receive and organize incoming correspondence and legal documents
- Assist with opening and closing client files
- Gather information and documentation requested by attorneys
- Maintain accurate client and case information within office systems
- Assist with billing, invoices, or other administrative functions as needed
- Handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion
- Provide additional administrative support to the office as needed
Qualifications
- Previous administrative, legal assistant, legal secretary, or professional office experience preferred
- Prior experience within a law firm or legal environment is strongly preferred
- Strong proficiency with Microsoft Office, including Word, Outlook, and Excel
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong typing, proofreading, grammar, and document-formatting abilities
- Highly organized with strong attention to detail
- Ability to prioritize multiple assignments and meet deadlines
- Professional and confident when communicating with clients and other professionals
- Dependable with strong attendance and follow-through
- Ability to work independently while also contributing to a team environment
- Comfortable handling confidential and sensitive information
- Ability to learn legal terminology, procedures, and office systems
- Must possess a valid driver's license
- Must have reliable transportation to and from work and for occasional work-related errands as needed
- Must successfully complete all required pre-employment screenings

Compensation & Schedule
This is a full-time, Monday through Friday position with standard hours of 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
Compensation ranges from $35,000 to $50,000 annually, depending on the candidate's previous legal experience, administrative background, technical skills, and overall qualifications.
Pay: $35,000.00 - $55,000.00 per year
