American Traveler is hiring a travel RN for a Cardiac Medical Telemetry unit (nights) in Joplin, MO, requiring 2+ years of stepdown or ICU experience and active MO or compact RN licensure.

Night shift position on a Cardiac Medical Telemetry unit (7 Tele) in an acute care hospital setting
-
13-week contract with flexible length options ranging from 8 to 26 weeks
-
Night shift hours: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM
-
36-hour work week with flexible options for 36 or 48 hours
-
Patient ratio of approximately 1:6
-
Patient population includes post-cardiac cath, AFib, CHF, stable MI, pacemaker insertion, non-titrated cardiac drips, and general medical overflow
-
Unit also receives post-op surgical patients and trauma overflow
-
Required competencies include insulin drips, Precedex, titrating nitroglycerin, Cardizem, and BiPAP

Equipment used includes IV pumps, glucometers, and GE monitoring equipment

EMR: Epic
-
Weekend, float, and on-call requirements are per facility needs

Level 2 Trauma Center, Level 2 Stroke Center, and Level 2 STEMI Center
-
Active RN license — must hold a Missouri license or be eligible for licensure in Missouri (MO or compact state license accepted)

Current BLS and ACLS certifications from AHA required; NIHSS certification also required
-
Minimum 2 years of stepdown or ICU experience in an acute care hospital setting
-
Competency with insulin drips, Precedex, nitroglycerin titration, Cardizem, and BiPAP required
-
No certification expiring within the first 30 days of assignment unless documented renewal is scheduled
-
Valid U.S. Social Security Number required (Canadian SINs not accepted)

No gaps in employment of 90 or more days within the past 12 months
-
Night shift orientates on day shift; candidate must be available the entire orientation week
-
Black scrubs are required; no other colors are accepted (facility M-wear is acceptable)

Flu vaccination or a Mercy-approved exemption is required for assignments running November 1 through April 1; declinations are not accepted

Up to 5 days of RTO is allowed but must be made up during the assignment

Candidates residing within 50 miles of the facility are eligible but may be subject to a reduced bill rate

The ideal candidate is flexible, dependable, hardworking, and has strong teamwork skills
