We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Shop Foreman/Lead Diesel Technician to oversee our service department’s daily operations. Responsibilities
- Lead and supervise the shop team of diesel technicians, assigning tasks efficiently to meet repair deadlines while maintaining high standards of workmanship.
- Perform advanced diagnostics and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulic systems, suspensions, brakes, HVAC systems, and electrical components.
- Oversee the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment such as tractors, trailers, and other industrial machinery.
- Utilize schematics and technical manuals to troubleshoot issues accurately and implement effective solutions.
- Ensure all repairs comply with safety regulations and quality standards; conduct inspections to verify work completion.
- Maintain detailed service records, work orders, and inventory logs; manage parts procurement for ongoing repairs.
- Promote a culture of continuous improvement by coaching technicians on new techniques and industry best practices.
Requirements
- Proven dealership or heavy equipment service technician experience with strong mechanical knowledge across diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, and electrical diagnostics.
- Extensive hands-on experience with fabrication, welding, soldering, and use of power tools for equipment assembly or repair projects.
- Ability to read schematics confidently.
- Knowledge of diesel repair procedures
- Strong leadership skills with previous experience supervising or leading a team of mechanics or service technicians.
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to lift heavy components safely; comfortable working in physically demanding environments using hand tools and power tools for extended periods.
- Certifications related to diesel engine repair, electrical systems, hydraulics or relevant technical training are highly desirable.
