Obtain health histories, measure vital signs, perform basic nursing assessments for patient illnesses.
Administer medications, give injections and record results in patient's electronic record.
Assist clinicians with physical examinations and educate patients on procedures.
Assist with the nursing assessment of any patient who presents to the clinic who is deemed to have an emergency and communicate with staff physician or nurse practitioner.
Collect biological samples by venipuncture, fingerstick, nasal/throat swabs or urine and perform in-house laboratory tests on samples.
When necessary, package samples for shipment to outside laboratories per clinic protocol.
Maintain an accurate log of all persons tested, including for Covid19, influenza and other communicable diseases and prepare reports to applicable health agencies when reporting of certain diseases are required by law or school policy.
