American Traveler is seeking a Certified Respiratory Therapist (CRT) or Registered Respiratory Therapist (RRT) for a 13-week night shift contract at a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center in Milwaukee, WI.

Respiratory Therapy Services department at a 933-bed Level III Trauma Center, Level III NICU, Magnet-designated, Comprehensive Stroke Center in Milwaukee, WI

Patient population is primarily geriatrics and adults, with some pediatric patients in the ED
-
1:1 patient ratio

Performs vent management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, A-line placement, intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs
-
Ventilators used include AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack (MRI), and Hamilton (transport)
-
Charting via Epic; Pyxis medication dispensing system on unit

12-hour night shifts, 36 hours per week

Every other weekend rotation required

Floating required within the hospital to all units
-
On-call required as needed
-
Holiday coverage required as needed

Minimum 1 year of experience in respiratory therapy, with most recent experience within the last year

Active CRT or RRT credential required
-
Current BLS and ACLS certifications required
-
Active state license required, if applicable
-
Proficiency with vent management, CPAP, BiPAP, nebulizer treatments, A-line placement, intubation, vent weaning, extubation, and ABGs
-
Experience with AVEA, Servo U, LPU 1200, Parapack, and Hamilton ventilators required

COVID vaccination required

Minimum 1 professional reference from a Supervisor, Manager, Director, or Charge RN, collected within the last year

Local candidates are accepted at the same rate — no radius rule applies

Orientation includes at least one shift to learn unit flow and workflows

Block scheduling cannot be accommodated

A fatigue policy is in place limiting all staff, including travelers, to no more than 60 hours per week or 5 consecutive 12-hour shifts

Former employees of Advocate Health or any of its subsidiaries must be separated for at least 12 months before being eligible

Scrubs may be any color; camouflage and denim are not permitted
