Responsibilities
- Assist clients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and preferences
- Monitor vital signs and observe patient conditions to detect any changes or concerns
- Administer medications accurately following care plans and HIPAA privacy regulations
- Utilize specialized equipment such as Hoyer lifts or resident lifts safely during transfers
- Maintain detailed documentation of care provided, patient observations, and progress notes
- Support clients with memory care needs, including Alzheimer’s and dementia care, creating a safe environment
- Engage in light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a tidy living space
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement personalized care plans and ensure continuity of care
- Provide emotional support and companionship to foster a positive environment for clients
Skills
- Bilingual fluency in Spanish and English to effectively communicate with clients and families
- Experience working in assisted living, nursing homes, group homes, or home & community care settings
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques and ability to recognize signs of health deterioration or distress
- Certification in CPR and First Aid to respond promptly during emergencies
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations to ensure client confidentiality at all times
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely when assisting with transfers or mobility support
- Experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, autism, or Alzheimer’s/dementia-related conditions
- Strong understanding of medication administration procedures and safety protocols
- Compassionate demeanor with excellent interpersonal skills for building trustful relationships
- Ability to follow detailed care plans accurately while maintaining flexibility for individual needs
