As an Environmental Engineer you will in the specific areas of responsibilities noted below, provide support for the on-going compliance with environmental regulations. Ensure that all control, monitoring, recordkeeping, and reporting requirements related to areas of responsibility are satisfied. Provide support as needed for environmental compliance and permitting projects.

Ensure assigned Spill/Upset/Emission Event/Reporting requirements are satisfied in accordance with all applicable regulations.

Ensure assigned federal, state or applicable government reporting obligations (e.g., SARA 313 reports; Emission Inventories; NSPS Reports; MACT Reports; Annual Waste Summary Reports, LDAR reports, etc) are completed in a timely and compliant manner.

Ensure operational records necessary to demonstrate compliance with assigned environmental regulations/programs are acquired, recorded, and properly retained.

Ensure emission control equipment inspections required by environmental regulations and programs assigned are properly satisfied, recorded, and reported to state, federal, or other government authorities, as applicable.

Assist with regulatory permitting tasks, as needed.

Ensure on-going compliance with assigned environmental regulations and permits.

Generate reports/records to support demonstration of compliance.

Communicate effectively with Engineering and Operations personnel to ensure compliance with environmental regulations and permits is continually achieved.

Ensure compliance with all applicable environmental regulation and permit tasks assigned.

Read and interpret company policies, regulatory guidelines, and other work-related documentation.

Abide by confidentiality requirements when working with sensitive information, results, and communications.
-
Provide thorough, efficient, and effective customer service to individuals at all levels within the organization.
-
Communicate effectively through written and verbal methods.
-
Accomplish work within required timelines, including short, long, and emergency timeframes.
-
Cross-train in other department duties to ensure efficient coverage department responsibilities.

Work with others to accomplish challenging assignments.
-
Multi-task and prioritize multiple assignments to ensure completion of tasks within stated time requirements.

Be skilled in using Microsoft Office programs (i.e., Word and Excel).
This position is salaried exempt status, which means you are not eligible for overtime pay.
The salary range for this position is $107,700 to $148,000 and represents Valero’s good faith and reasonable estimate of the range of expected compensation at the time of this posting. Actual compensation will be determined based on a number of job-related factors, including but not limited to, the individual’s qualifications and experience.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
-
Able and willing to work on-site, in-person at the Valero Wilmington Refinery, required.

Bachelor’s degree (or higher) in Engineering, or related Science is required.
-
2 years of environmental engineering, or related refinery engineering experience required.
