Summary
Works in collaboration with providers and care teams to provide quality care to patients and quality support to providers through consistent communication. Performs triage and assessment of patients over the phone, answers medical questions/inquires, and documents according to protocol. Accountable for the delivery of quality nursing care in accordance with individual patient needs.
Education
Must have completed an accredited medical assistant program, a graduate of a professional school of nursing.
Licensure/Certification
Must be a Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) through AAMA or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) through AMT, or(RN), (LPN CPR certification is required.
Experience
1-3 years of experience in a physician office setting preferred.
Other Qualifications
Must have solid verbal and written communication skills. Knowledge of clinical or clerical operations, service excellence, clinical quality initiatives preferred. Must be familiar with computers, electronic medical record experience preferred. Must be able to lift 25 pounds.
Key Outcomes
Must be the “champion” for patient access to AHC in order to increase patient volumes and patient satisfaction.
Responsible for all clinical and clerical functions necessary to provide quality care to patients in support of the providers and clinical care team. Achieves and exceeds the quality and safety goals set by AHC. Assist with the Information Technology initiatives, including the implementation of the electronic medical records and practice management system that supports the management and growth of practices. Communicates with providers regarding any patient concerns. Ensures smooth flow of patients through continuously monitoring schedules and communication. Records all aspects of patient care according to medical standards of documentation. Reports all incidents (patient and self), near misses and adverse events.
Maintains service excellence goals that are consistent with AHC goals. Treats patients, family members, guests and healthcare team members with care, courtesy and respect. Consistently anticipates the needs of customers and puts those needs first.

Any unfixed tissue or organ from a human; and HIV-containing cell or tissue cultures, organ cultures, and HIV or HBV-containing culture medium or other tissues from experimental animals with HIV, or HBV. NOTE: Exposure determination shall be made without regard to the use of personal protective equipment.
