Work Environment
The facility manufactures carpeted products for the automotive industry, including components installed in trunks, headliners, under hoods, and on vehicle floorboards with soundproof, weather-resistant, and waterproof backing. The operation runs multiple plants in town, each with approximately 70 production employees per shift and several stamping cells containing multiple presses. The shop is a high-production environment where numbers and efficiencies are constantly tracked. You will work primarily on 2nd shift (3:00 p.m.–11:00 p.m.), with other shifts operating from 7:00 a.m.–3:00 p.m. and 11:00 p.m.–7:00 a.m. The role currently involves 10-hour days and frequent overtime, including working up to 6 days per week. The production floor can be loud depending on the area, and you will spend most of your time standing at a press with a material cart, loading and unloading parts, inspecting components, and trimming as needed. Training is hands-on: on day one, you are paired with a line leader and a top-producing employee, and each job typically requires about one day of training to reach efficiency, with the expectation that you will learn 2–3 different roles in the first week.
