Job Description:
We are seeking a Part-Time Accounting Specialist to support day-to-day accounting operations for a manufacturing environment. This position will contribute to accounts payable, accounts receivable, general ledger activities, reconciliations, journal entries, accruals, and month-end and year-end close processes.
The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of accounting processes and be able to quickly step into an established environment with minimal ramp-up time.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes.
- Review accounting transactions for accuracy and completeness.
- Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual accounting activities as needed.
- Support month-end and year-end closing processes.
- Prepare account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
- Assist with timely and accurate financial reporting.
- Enter and maintain financial information within the ERP system.
- Collaborate with internal teams to resolve accounting discrepancies and obtain necessary information.
- Maintain organized and accurate accounting records and supporting documentation.
- Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
- At least 5 years of accounting experience, preferably within a manufacturing environment.
- Previous accounts payable and accounts receivable experience.
- Strong understanding of core accounting processes and the ability to quickly learn established procedures.
- Experience with Microsoft Dynamics, Business Central, or a similar ERP system.
- Experience with general ledger activities, including journal entries, reconciliations, and accruals.
- Experience supporting month-end and year-end close processes.
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage priorities effectively.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office, particularly Excel.
Schedule & Assignment Details
- Part-time: 20–30 hours per week
- Flexible hours within 7:30 AM–4:30 PM business hours
- Initial assignment: 3–4 months, with potential for extension
