Job Overview
We are seeking an experienced Senior Facilities Technician to support the operation and maintenance of critical building and facility systems within a highly regulated environment. This position is focused specifically on facility infrastructure rather than production equipment. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience maintaining and troubleshooting systems such as HVAC, water, steam, plumbing, and electrical utilities. Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance, inspections, troubleshooting, and repairs on facility and building systems.
- Maintain HVAC, water, steam, plumbing, electrical, and other facility utility systems.
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues affecting building operations and determine appropriate corrective actions.
- Respond to facility issues and service requests to minimize downtime and maintain reliable operations.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, equipment documentation, and maintenance procedures.
- Perform routine inspections to identify potential problems before failures occur.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, inspections, and completed work accurately.
- Follow established safety procedures and facility maintenance standards.
- Coordinate with other facilities team members and contractors when completing maintenance and repair activities.
- Participate in an on-call rotation to provide support for facility issues that occur outside normal working hours.
Skills & Qualifications
- Previous hands-on experience maintaining actual facility/building systems rather than primarily production equipment.
- Strong experience with HVAC systems, water systems, steam systems, plumbing, and related facility utilities.
- Strong mechanical troubleshooting and preventative maintenance skills.
- Electrical troubleshooting experience is preferred.
- Ability to diagnose facility system failures and perform or coordinate necessary repairs.
- Experience reading schematics, diagrams, and technical documentation.
- Strong understanding of workplace safety and proper maintenance procedures.
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with a facilities team.
- Strong communication, documentation, and problem-solving skills.
This is a first-shift opportunity, Monday through Friday, with an on-call rotation for occasional weekday evening support. The position is an open-ended contract-to-hire opportunity with the potential for long-term growth.
Pay: $31.00 - $34.00 per hour
