American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg night shift travel position in Hawaii, requiring a minimum of 2 years of experience and an active Hawaii RN license.

Medical unit in a hospital setting with 77 beds
-
Adult med/surg patient population
-
Night shift position with variable shift lengths and days — flexibility is required
-
Nurse-to-patient ratio of 1:8 on nights (1:6 on days and evenings)

36-hour workweek following the first full week of orientation

Meditech EMR used in the unit
-
Equipment includes Pyxis medication dispensing, wound vac, and chest tubes
-
May float to the Laulima Unit and Cardiovascular Unit

13-week contract

Active Hawaii (HI) RN license required by start of assignment; candidates without one must apply upon acceptance of offer

Current BLS and ACLS certifications required

Minimum 2 years of RN experience required

Familiarity with Meditech EMR preferred

Must be flexible with shift lengths and scheduling

All travelers must report to Employee Health 48–72 hours prior to the start of the assignment; plan to arrive in Hawaii the Thursday before a Monday start date to attend the Employee Health appointment on Friday morning

Proof of flu vaccination or a facility-approved medical/religious exemption is required prior to the contract start date; flu vaccination may be administered at the Employee Health clearance appointment

Orientation is provided for each unit prior to independent practice
