About the Opportunity / A Day in the Life:
As a Medical Assistant here, you are often the first person a young patient and their parent meet. You welcome them, move them through intake, take and document vitals and other clinical information, and get them ready for their appointment — setting the tone for the visit before the provider walks in.
From there you work alongside the clinical team: assisting with examinations, procedures, and routine clinical tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice, keeping documentation accurate and current in the EMR, and helping communication flow between patients, families, and the rest of the care team. Between visits you turn over and stock exam rooms, help with scheduling and follow-up, and keep supplies where they need to be.
The schedule is hybrid — on-site at least 1–2 days per week during normal business hours — with a remote on-call rotation that comes around roughly one week in four. Working with adolescents ages 12–17 means patience and age-appropriate communication matter as much as clinical accuracy.
Why This Role Stands Out:
- Hybrid schedule for a Medical Assistant role — on-site 1–2 days per week, not five
- On-call is fully remote and comes around about one week in four
- Tuition reimbursement for education in a related field, if you are working toward a next step
- A focused adolescent patient population, so you build real depth rather than seeing a bit of everything
- Collaborative, supportive team that values teamwork and professional development
- Cell phone provided, plus health, dental, vision, and PTO
What We’re Looking For:
- A Medical Assistant with at least a year of relevant MA or healthcare experience
- Experience working with adolescents ages 12–17 and their families
- Someone patient and steady — adolescent patients read the room, and how you talk to them matters
- Accurate, timely documentation habits and comfort living in an EMR
- Professionalism around confidentiality and appropriate boundaries with patients and families
- A dependable teammate who communicates clearly with clinical and administrative colleagues
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Welcome patients and families and assist with the patient intake process
- Prepare patients for appointments and obtain and document vital signs and other appropriate clinical information
- Assist healthcare professionals with examinations, procedures, and routine clinical tasks within the Medical Assistant scope of practice
- Maintain accurate and timely patient documentation in the electronic medical record
- Support communication and coordination between patients, families, and members of the healthcare team
- Assist with scheduling, follow-up activities, and other administrative responsibilities as needed
- Prepare, clean, and maintain examination and patient care areas in accordance with established standards
- Maintain appropriate supplies and assist with inventory management
- Follow infection prevention, patient safety, confidentiality, and organizational policies and procedures
- Provide compassionate, age-appropriate support when interacting with adolescents ages 12–17 and their families
- Participate in the remote on-call rotation approximately 1 out of every 4 weeks
- Maintain reliable attendance for required on-site work at least 1–2 days per week
- Perform additional Medical Assistant duties within the scope of the position as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- Medical Assistant qualification
- Minimum of 1 year of relevant Medical Assistant or healthcare experience
- Experience working with adolescents ages 12–17 and their families
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and appropriate boundaries when working with patients and families
- Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team
- Ability to work on-site in Scottsdale at least 1–2 days per week
- Ability to participate in a fully remote 1:4-week on-call rotation
Preferred Background:
- Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA)
- Experience in an outpatient or clinic setting
- Experience supporting a pediatric or adolescent patient population
This Role Is Likely a Fit If You…
- Enjoy being the person who sets a nervous adolescent patient at ease before their appointment
- Like clinical work with a consistent patient population rather than constant variety
- Keep documentation current instead of letting it stack up at the end of the day
- Want a hybrid schedule and are reliable about the on-site days you commit to
- Work comfortably alongside providers and administrative staff in a small collaborative team
This Role May Not Be a Fit If You…
- Are looking for a fully remote or fully on-site position
- Would rather not participate in an on-call rotation, even a remote one
- Prefer an adult or geriatric patient population
- Find EMR documentation and administrative follow-up tedious
- Want responsibilities beyond the Medical Assistant scope of practice
Why Join Us:
Join a collaborative healthcare team dedicated to providing compassionate, high-quality care to adolescents and their families. This is a role where you make a meaningful impact in a supportive environment that values teamwork, professional development, and excellent patient care — backed by a hybrid schedule, remote on-call, and tuition reimbursement toward a related field.
