Gillmann Services is looking for a highly skilled and motivated HVAC Technician to join our dynamic service team in Hopkinsville Kentucky with a ACTIVE KENTUCKY LICENSE.. This role involves installing, maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting a wide range of heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and mechanical systems across commercial properties.
$100 Dollars a Day of Per Diem Worked - Working 6 - 10 Hour
Responsibilities
- Install, service, and repair HVAC systems including air conditioning units, boilers, refrigeration equipment, and building automation systems.
- Read and interpret schematics, technical manuals, and electrical diagrams to diagnose issues accurately.
- Perform electrical diagnostics and troubleshoot electrical systems using tools such as ohmmeters.
- Conduct equipment troubleshooting and repairs on HVAC/R systems with precision and efficiency.
- Maintain mechanical systems by performing routine inspections, preventive maintenance, and emergency repairs.
- Assist in HVAC system design modifications and upgrades based on client needs or system requirements.
- Utilize hand tools such as wrenches, screwdrivers, welding equipment, and other mechanical tools for repairs.
- Diagnose complex issues involving ammonia refrigeration or other specialized systems.
- Ensure compliance with EPA regulations related to refrigerant handling and environmental safety standards.
Skills
- Proven experience in construction environments with a strong foundation in HVAC system installation and maintenance.
- Service technician experience with a focus on HVAC system repair and troubleshooting.
- Proficiency in reading schematics, technical diagrams, and building automation systems.
- Knowledge of HVAC design principles alongside plumbing skills for comprehensive system integration.
- Mechanical knowledge of mechanical systems repair including boilers, pumps, fans, and ductwork.
- Familiarity with electrical diagnostics involving electrical systems within HVAC units.
- Experience with refrigeration systems including ammonia refrigeration is a plus.
- Ability to operate hand tools safely and effectively; welding skills are advantageous.
- Strong understanding of HVAC/R principles combined with property maintenance experience.
- Certifications such as EPA refrigerant handling certification are required; additional certifications in HVAC or electrical work are desirable.
- Excellent problem-solving skills coupled with the ability to work independently or as part of a team in fast-paced environments.
