Job Summary
We are seeking a dynamic and organized Dental Receptionist to join our vibrant dental team! Responsibilities
- Greet patients warmly, verify their information, and assist with appointment scheduling using EMR (Electronic Medical Records) systems such as Epic, Meditech, or eClinicalWorks
- Manage patient check-in and check-out processes while ensuring accurate documentation review and data entry
- Handle phone communication with professionalism, providing clear information and scheduling appointments efficiently
- Maintain and update patient records in compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies
- Process medical billing and collections using health insurance knowledge, including Medicare and Medicaid procedures
- Coordinate with dental staff to confirm appointments and prepare necessary documentation for procedures
- Manage front desk duties such as filing, faxing, copying, and maintaining organized medical records
- Utilize Microsoft Office tools for administrative tasks and data management
Qualifications
- Proven experience in a medical or dental office setting, with strong clinic experience preferred
- Proficiency in EMR/EHR systems like Epic, Meditech, Athenahealth, or similar platforms
- Knowledge of medical coding including CPT (Current Procedural Terminology), ICD-9/10 (International Classification of Diseases), ICD coding, and medical billing practices
- Familiarity with health insurance processes, Medicare guidelines, and documentation review procedures
- Excellent customer service skills with phone etiquette and professional communication abilities
- Strong computer skills including typing (10 key typing), Microsoft Office applications, and electronic health records management
- Bilingual abilities are a plus to serve diverse patient populations
- Ability to handle multiple tasks efficiently while maintaining attention to detail in a fast-paced environment
- Knowledge of clinical confidentiality policies and healthcare regulations
