American Traveler is seeking a Certified Surgical Technologist with at least 2 years of OR experience for a 13-week acute care hospital assignment in an active, high-volume operating room environment.

Acute care hospital OR setting with 7 surgical suites averaging 15–20 cases per day
-
Common case types include high-volume orthopedics (including total joints), general surgery, GYN, pediatrics, and ophthalmology; travelers will not be assigned to cardiac cases
-
8-hour shifts with variable start times; schedule is determined by the unit manager
-
One weekend of call per month and one call night per week required
-
30-minute call response time required

Cerner Surginet is the EMR used in this position

No floating required

Holiday coverage is required for emergency situations only

Scrubs are provided by the facility

Minimum of 2 years of OR scrub experience required; travel experience preferred

CST (Certified Surgical Technologist) certification required; pending certifications are not accepted

BLS certification required; pending certifications are not accepted

Active state or compact (NLC) license required if applicable; pending licenses will not be accepted

Two professional references required: one supervisor from within the last 12 months and one peer or supervisor from within the last 3 years, both including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire

Copy of driver's license required for consideration

Candidates may not have been directly employed full-time, part-time, or PRN by any CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity Health facility within the past year; candidates employed PRN through outside staffing firms will be considered

Orientation length varies based on individual skill set

A charge nurse is available, though not on a 24/7 basis
